The screw heading machine is a cold forging press specifically designed for forming the heads of screws. It uses cut wire (raw material), feeds it into the forging station one by one, and applies high pressure to the one end of the raw material for upsetting. This cold forming process does not require cutting the material and can shape the metal into various screw head shapes.
Inside the Screw Head Machining Machine, the cut blanks are transferred to the first die station. A powerful ram drives a die, which strikes the end of the blank, forcing the metal to flow into the shape defined by the die cavity. For complex heads, the blank may pass through multiple stations (such as double die, triple die, etc.), with each station performing an incremental forming step to achieve the final head geometry.
The screw heading machine mainly relies on interchangeable molds and punches. Each specific type and size of screw head requires a set of matching fixtures. Switching from producing one type of screw head to another requires stopping the machine, removing the existing fixtures, installing new molds and punches, and adjusting settings such as feeding length and stroke force, etc.
The impact force of the screw heading machine is strong, which can press the hard wire into a regular head shape. The mold replacement is convenient. To make different shaped heads, just change the mold set. For example, from a round head to a hexagonal head. The machine operates stably and is unlikely to malfunction even after continuous operation for several hours. Even if there are minor issues, the repair is also simple.
