The supplier Ronen® provides the 4 Die 4 Station Bolt Former, which forms the bolt blank in four steps: the first step is to cut the wire, the second step is to stretch the blank, the third step is to shape the bolt head, and the fourth step is to trim the excess parts. There is no need to move the raw materials.
The 4 Die 4 Station Bolt Former uses four separate stations and corresponding molds to cold-die the metal wire into bolt blanks. It manufactures bolts by pushing metal through four forming stages. The metal wire enters from one end, is cut, and then passes through each workstation.
Place a roll of wire into the bolt former and the forming process can begin. The machine automatically cuts a section of wire and feeds it into the four stations. At each stop, a tool presses onto the metal, changing its shape and transforming the simple wire into a complex bolt.
The 4 Die 4 Station Bolt Former uses a cold forging process, allowing the metal to be shaped without the need for heating. As the internal structure of the metal is compressed and reshaped, this results in a more robust final product. The fasteners manufactured in this way are extremely strong and durable.
One of the key components of the bolt former is the transfer finger. This component picks up the unfinished bolts and precisely moves them from one station to the next. If this mechanism is not aligned properly, the bolts will not be formed correctly. Its process flow is progressive. The first station may start forming the head, the next station completes the head formation, another station processes the tip, and the last station begins to process the threads.

The feature of the 4 Die 4 Station Bolt Former is that the workstations are well coordinated, and the mold replacement is quick. The movements of the four workstations are precisely coordinated by mechanical linkage. Once the previous workstation finishes processing, the workpiece automatically moves to the next one without any misalignment or stalling.
